If you have eSignal and QuoTrek on the same product, please be advised that simultaneous use of these programs is not permitted. If you wish to use eSignal and QuoTrek at the same time, you must subscribe to the stand-alone versions of these products. Additionally, delayed data is currently not available for QuoTrek.

Compatibility
Before installing QuoTrek, please review our list of compatible devices. QuoTrek is compatible with all BlackBerry handheld devices with RIM OS 4.0 or higher, as well as most mobile devices with a Java JVM that is CLDC 1.1 or higher and MIDP 2.0 or higher installed. Carriers introduce new mobile devices quite regularly. While we continually work toward making QuoTrek compatible with as many devices as possible, it's likely some units may not be fully functional with QuoTrek. We offer a 30-day trial for testing. Additional compatibility information is available here.

Logging In
Once QuoTrek is installed, click the QuoTrek icon to log in. Please remember that the Username and Password are both case-sensitive. With version 3.0.14 and newer, there are 3 Connection Options to choose from. BES (Enterprise) is recommended for Corporate Enterprise users. Personal users can choose either BIS or TCP.

The differences between BIS and TCP are as follows:

  • BIS uses IPPP (Internet Protocol Proxy Protocol), which is RIM's proprietary wireless protocol that transports data traffic to RIM's servers (in Canada), which acts as a proxy to the Internet.
  • TCP uses WAP to TCP, where your carrier's gateway (wap.voicestream.com or wap.cingular or whatever your carrier is) translates the WAP data traffic into TCP.
