eSignal and Windows 7 Compatibility
Windows 7 is here. It has arrived three short years after Vista with the expectation that it will be what its predecessor should have been. As it always happens with the release of a new Microsoft Operating System, people wonder if the programs they run on their computers will be fully compatible with the new system. eSignal users are no exception; they want to know if eSignal is compatible with Windows 7.

The answer is a resounding “yes”; eSignal is compatible with Windows 7, so much so, that Windows 7 compatibility has been added to our System Requirements page. There are, however, a few settings, such as the Windows 7 Firewall and User Account Control (UAC), that must first be configured in order for all the eSignal components to function properly. This involves running eSignal and the Data Manager in Windows XP Compatibility mode.
To configure the UAC:
- Close eSignal and the eSignal Data Manager.
- From the desktop, right click the eSignal icon and select Open File Location.

- Right click the WinSig file and select Properties to open the WinSig Properties window.

- In the WinSig Properties window, check next to Run this program in compatibility mode for and make sure Windows XP (Service Pack 3) is selected in the drop-down menu. Also, put a check next to Run this program as an administrator. Click OK.

- Next, right click over the winros file to configure it the same way.
That's it; just 5 easy steps.
