Quote.com Goes Mobile
Last month, we looked at the global financial portal, Quote.com. We’ve recently introduced a major enhancement to the site for traders on the go! The mobile version of Quote.com, http://quote.mobi, provides free charts, quotes and news for your cell phone, PDA or smart phone from markets around the world.
Fast, Free and Mobile
When you pull up the front page, you’ll be given the choice of entering in a ticker symbol or choosing one of the following areas:
- Market Update -- Quickly displays quotes from major markets, such as the Dow 30, S&P 500, Crude Oil and 10-Year T-Note Interest Rate
- World Markets -- Provides free quotes from global equity markets including the FTSE 100, DAX and Heng Seng indices
- News -- Pulls up the latest financial headlines from a variety of international news sources
- Most Actives -- Gives a list of top leaders in a variety of unique categories such as Unusual Volume, Very Short-Term Up / Down (more on this below)
- Forex -- Displays cross-rates from the 6 major currency pairs, including the Euro, Yen and British Pound
- Futures -- Shows quotes from the top U.S. futures contracts, including the E-mini S&P 500, Gold, Natural Gas and Live Cattle
Quotes on Demand
As mentioned earlier, the home page of http://quote.mobi has a space to type in a ticker symbol. Using this will give you quick access to the data you need, where you need it. And, it covers 100+ exchanges from around the globe.
Most Actives
Besides having free global coverage of all major worldwide exchanges, the mobile version of Quote.com provides a unique look at the movers and shakers in the markets today. You have the ability to see which U.S. stocks have been the most volatile today or the top NYSE stocks that have hit a new yearly high. In all, there are 56 different scans to choose from, with the main types being:
