| This
feature of eSignal gives you the ability to pull the information
from an advanced chart, including any studies applied at the
time, and tabularize it. |
The Data Export function is an advanced charting
feature that captures the data points, including those from all studies
you have applied to a chart, and displays them in a tabular format
to be used in Excel and other applications.
You must first set up an advanced chart with the symbol and interval
you want to export. If you want a specific number of data points,
such as 2 years of daily data, you might need to scroll the chart
to the left, far enough to make sure it has brought in enough data.
Then follow these easy steps:
- Right click on the advanced chart and select
Data Export. A window will come up with the data from the chart
in a tabular format. It will include the studies you have on the
chart, as well as the price data.
- In the box at the top of each column, check or uncheck
each one to decide if you want that field exported.
- Choose the type of export: Save as Text gives you
a tab delimited file that can be opened into any program that
reads that form of data, Save as HTML creates a file that can
be opened into a web browser to display the data and Copy to Clipboard
saves the data to your Windows clipboard, so you can paste it
into Excel or other programs. This is best if you don't want to
create one text file and then convert it into an Excel file later.
The exported data is a flat file of the data in the chart at the
moment you selected the Data Export feature. It won't bring any
streaming data into Excel in the manner of a DDE link.
The export can be text, separated by commas, or .html.
